NEMO status and statistics

NEMO is now quite often under full load and jobs are getting queued. While it may be inconvenient for users that their jobs do not get executed immediately, this is the desired target state for a high performance computing system.

Having jobs in the queue guarantees that the supercomputer will not starve into idleness over night, on weekends or on national holidays. (In parallel we started a quality initiative to check if jobs could be submitted more efficiently to reduce empty cores because of suboptimal job requirements.)

However, sometimes it is desirable to have nodes for testing or for interactive use quickly available. The HPC team is looking into finding a solution for that problem.

For the time being, we advise users to check the status and statistics of NEMO. For detailed statistics on our monitoring server: https://cloud.nemo.uni-freiburg.de/user (login with NEMO user credentials required).
